To God be the Glory Sports has gained the support of Champion
360 to expand their existing retail operations. Champion 360 is an Atlanta, GA
based investment company that is led by former Houston Comet and WNBA World
Champion Nyree Roberts.
She along with her partners have agreed to work with To
God be the Glory Sports to open a small boutique typed store with fashion
merchandise aimed at young women. The store open for business in Houston, Texas
on September 1, 2006.
Roberts said that her company was excited about the
opportunity to invest in TGBTG because of their goal to build a recreation
center as well as employing inner city youth through the Young Entrepreneurs
program.
"TGBTG has a good track record of
doing good business and serving their community, and we were glad to
make this deal work," said Roberts, who has played professional
basketball in 10 countries.
"We had worked together
successfully on the camps, so we are optimistic about our venture together in
retail." Champion 360 has alloted a portion of their annual profits from the
retail operation to support To God be the Glory Sports PROJECT BUILD A GYM for
the next 3 years.
This type of support is vital to the growth and development of TGBTG. "When people like Nyree
and her partners see more than
just their own
benefits in a business deal, then we are able to reach more agreements like
these," said Cyril White, director of TGBTG Sports. "Of course, Champion 360 is interested to see their return on investment over time, but their larger concern
is to create some jobs for young people and to be a part of successfully
financing PROJECT BUILD A GYM."
