HOUSTON, TEXAS -- Less than one month after Houston's
newest mayor began her new job, TGBTG Sports
representative were out getting to know the City's chief
executive face to face at various business gatherings.
TGBTG Director Cyril White and business consultant Mike
Jones connected with Mayor Parker
at
the Houston Association of Black Journalist mixer in
early January.
During their brief exchange, White was able to share a
concise history and vision of the TGBTG programs with
the Mayor, as well as discuss a visit to the TGBTG Gym
in the summer of 2010.
"Mayor Parker expressed to me that she likes to speak
with kids to educate them about the political process
and hear their views," said White. "I look forward to
having her visit the TGBTG Gym this summer and see what
we are doing to make Houston a better place to live."

her campaign. In addition to yard signs promoting Mayor
Parker for the election, Jones assisted in having
Parker's ads printed in local newspapers in the city of
Houston.

TGBTG SPORTS ATTENDS LOCAL MEET AND GREETS FOR AREA
PUBLIC OFFICE CANDIDATES
HOUSTON, TEXAS -- While the business under the To God
be the GLory Sports Complex roof continues to grow and
build up, the organization's main representatives have
been busy in the field spreading the word about TGBTG to
area public officials.
During
January, TGBTG Sports representatives Cyril White and
Mike Jones have attended several events in which public
service candidates have been campaigning for office.
With 2010 being an election year, White and Jones
decided it was time to leverage the resource of our new
building and develop some new relationships with
Houston's public officials-to-be.
"We let everyone know that the TGBTG Sports Complex is a
great place to meet good people-- people that you will
want to vote for you and put you in office" said White.
"The events are a great way to get to know the
candidate, and see if and how you can work together to
promote what each other is doing."
White and Jones have attended events for 157th District
Court Judge Candidate Shawn Thierry, 295th Civil Court
Judge Candidate Reginald McKamie, 334th District
Juvenile Court Judge Candidate David Longoria, and met
several other candidates along the way.

"What is important for each of the candidate to know
about us is not so much the size of the gym we own, but
the large number of people, both child and adult, that
use the TGBTG facility,"
said White. "You have a chance to reach both voters now
and young people who will vote tomorrow. The idea is to
make ourselves more accessible by being more visible at
these public events."
TGBTG plans to continue attending these types of
networking/business marketing events throughout the 2010
election year.
